How do I connect to the new database that was returned to me from Support?
If we have sent you a database for you to use with your copy of the software, follow the steps below to connect to the new database:
- If you have an existing database file, you may wish to make a copy of it before proceeding. This will allow you to revert to your current database if necessary.
- If you're not sure where your current database file is located, launch That's Rights! or EasyRoyalties and go to Options & settings > Database management. The name and location of the database file that you are currently connected to will be displayed.
- Download the database file that we send you to your PC or fileserver.
- If we sent you the database as a compressed file (zip), you will need to extract the db file from the compressed file. (Select the compressed folder, right-mouse click and then extract).
- Place the database file in the location where you wish to keep it. Note: if you replace your existing database file with the new one (and keep the same name/location), make sure you have closed the software before performing this step.
- Launch That's Rights! or EasyRoyalties. If you have simply replaced the database file (without changing name/location), the software should automatically connect to the new database. If your new database has a different name/location, then launch the software and go to Preferences > Connection Management > Change database, then click Browse... and select the new database file.
